\u201cAren’t you going to look in the inside?\u201d Bertha asks a little disheartened.<\/p>\n
\u201cNah, I’m over 50 now.\u00a0 My birthday just doesn’t feel like a thing anymore,\u201d Jacy says as relaxing back on the fence.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh Jacy, don’t be like that.\u00a0 You are only as old as you feel,\u201d Bertha responds sharply putting her hands on her hips.<\/p>\n
\u201cHmm, you know I never liked that phrase. It creates problems,\u201d Jacy retorts.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWell what if I say I feel like a 20 year old?\u00a0 That doesn’t mean I think like a 20 year old. I have my experience with me still.\u00a0 It doesn’t take into account that feeling won’t have a skewed effect on my actions and decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell I just didn’t want you to get down about your age,\u201d Bertha finally blurts out.<\/p>\n
\u201cHa, down about my age?\u00a0 I have a beautiful woman a decade younger than me bringing me cards and the like. Why would I even care about my age?\u201d Jacy says with a laugh.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, I’m beautiful now? Jacy, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a compliment from you.\u201d Berth replies also laughing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, compliments aren’t really my thing, but maybe I’m changing and maturing with age.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cJacy, I think maybe I have a better present for you than a silly birthday card,\u201d Berth says with a smirk.\u00a0\u00a0 She steps up to Jacy and grabs his hand.\u00a0 She moves his hand so he is holding her, grabbing her from behind.\u00a0 \u201cNow this isn’t going to go as far as you think it is. And it’s just a onetime birthday thing.\u201d
\n\u201cBertha, just having you at my place making it a little prettier is enough for me.\u201d
